Today I have an unexpected day off, as my mindee isn't very well :( I'd have been happy about a day off in my old life, but I'm sad because she's feeling rubbish.

On the plus side DD can play in the garden (which is unregistered atm) and I think we're going to go out later and get some decorations for the garden (bird boxes and stuff) to make it look nice ready for when it is registered :)

Next week am only working Monday and then Friday morning, off the next week and then working 3 days the following week (with Easter and the wedding) so will have DD looked after by various friends and relatives so that we can make the aforementioned sodding garden safe

:)

Beautiful day here, we hit a new playgroup and I spoke to a couple of parents which is unheard of round here on a first visit, so nice friendly bunch. My DD has pre-school today but I don't know if I can be bothered to take her, it's such a nice day!!!

I have a variation request to type up today but I'd be amazed if it's granted, it's for 4 EY age group for 2 days a week, new mindees mum has been let down at last minute with care for her other son so she wants me to take both .... No chance I think as mindee not currently started yet but thought I'd ask OFSTED anyway in case they are feeling generous!!

Flisspaps what's wrong with your garden?

I needed that cuppa - the 2 girls I have on a Thur have not been hitting it off today. Lots of whining & bickering. Plus the baby has just started walking.
I'm working every day cept Tuesday next week but fairly light as apart from Friday when I have 2 mindies I only have my own 2 plus 1. Then we are off to London to visit mil & meet up with my sister & nieces for a bit of sightseeing for 3 days before bringing mil back with us (now why did I suggest that?!)
Have been really enjoying the sun down here & hope it continues...

I had the paddling pool out for the first time this year, mindee (10m) and DD loved it! I didn't take DD to school in the end and it was so worth it, a nice leisurly lunch (for once!), park, paddling pool and now she's asleep (unheard of!), mindee has been zonked since 2pm as well!

Flisspaps · 07/04/2011 18:17

nervatious nothing much, apart from the lack of fence along about a third of one side and half the other, a large amount of ivy, an unprotected greenhouse and a lot of unbagged asbestos sitting on what is going to be my new patio Wink

Oh lovely, nice cuppa, just what I needed!!! :)

I'm loving this gorgeous weather!!! Just a shame the days are broken with nursery/preschool runs! Wednesdays and Thursdays are pretty mental with 3 being dropped at nursery after lunch then ds2 being dropped at preschool just 15 mins later (it's always mega tight!!). It is nice to have a little break though, I remember when they were all tiny and it was full on in a different way but I do miss the full days out etc. Still, nice to have no kiddies for a short time. In fact for the first time today I chose not to do paperwork etc. in that time and I actually took dh to the pub for a nice lunch to say well done for quitting smoking (he's 50 this year and been smoking for 33 years so I'm very proud!) I had a coke and he had 2 pints LOL. Then came home, grabbed stuff and dashed off to preschool to get ds2 and a friend's child. Found friend at school so back to just the one then collected the other 6 from the various classrooms/nursery. Another play in the playground then back for garden play then started to rush dinner (I hate dinnertime - I get so into having fun with the kids then realise the time and start rushing LOL).

Dh has to do his assistant role tomorrow and do the morning school run as he's watching ds1 in a play then helping on a trip to the local farm, so I get a more leisurely start to the day (and only 3 for breakfast instead of 5 which is a bonus! :))

Saturday we're off to take our boys to my parents 'up north' so once we've dropped them, we'll just have girls in the house til Thursday night. Be weird working without them but tbh, they drive me mad and are definitely the hardest of the bunch so will make life a lot easier Wink. The week after I've arranged a trip to see an ambulance and they get to play with the NEE NORS - they can't wait! Grin

Even though it means 7 kids all day every day (most of the time), I do much prefer having a whole day of fun instead of rushing from one place to another!

What's everyone up to for the Easter hols? I really hope it's lovely for some of it so we can enjoy days out at the park with picnics etc. It feels like it's been a long winter doesn't it!! I must say as much as I'm looking forward to the next couple of weeks, I'm also looking forward to the end of it as it means 11 days off work for some much needed rest/catching up with work!

Anyway, gone off on one LOL, best have another cuppa! Wink

Oh, just read about the mileage rate going up - ABOUT BLOOMIN TIME!!!!

If anyone else didn't know this (like me).......it's now 45p instead of 40p! :)

BoysAreLikeDogs · 07/04/2011 20:50

oooh that IS good news looney

hurrah !

I know, I've been moaning about the price of fuel and no increase in mileage allowance for AGES and they've finally bloomin done something about it! :) Must make sure I update my spreadsheets!!

HSMM · 07/04/2011 22:05

A day in the sun with children throwing water about. What more could a girl wish for?

Don't even ask me about BLEEEEEP Multimac and the car seat that was supposed to be fitted to my car today!

nervatious · 08/04/2011 15:05

Flisspaps - wow asbestos! we spent absolutely ages doing our garden, it was a jungle and now it hopefully is a safe and fun space to play...hope that's what ofsted say when they come for our graded inspection in 2 weeks - we are lucky cos we are having 2 weeks off and they rang yesterday so we have got a bit of notice which we wouldn't generally have. Wish me luck (and DH of course who is also being inspected)!
