I have just accepted a job and need child care 5-45-7.00 mon, tues and every other friday - plus possibly till late every few fridays. I have two children ds1 18mths old, ds2 10 year old. DS will go to minders all time, ds2 goes to cubs on a tuesday and some fridays will go to youth club . So my questions are:
How much should i expect to pay?
What chance have i got of finding someone to do this?
Does anyone childmind in sutton?
What would persuade you to do these starnge times?

Can't answer any of your questions (sorry- ) but I can tell you that my friend's children go to a childminder every day from 4-7 and sometimes they stay later. Also, they have both slept there on the odd occasion.

So...you might be lucky!

ok, well It may be possible to get someone to do this. I think most childminders, if you want every other week care, for one of the days, will only take the children on if you are willing to pay for the friday every week to secure the place. Different minders charge different prices per hour depending on where you live. The Friday night for DS2, if he is going to be at youth club you may still ahve to pay for the childminder for that day. You're chances are good, if someone has the room then they'll take you on. I would. I have children every other week on a friday and only for 1 hour. But i'm not in your area sorry.

I think what would persuade me is the children, if you told me you ahd tried so many minders with no luck, and really wanted to find some excellent care for your children, i'd consider you. A lot fo minders in my area are full, and for such short hours, most people may be full. but i hope you sort something out.
Good luck

have you tries advertising on www. familiesmagazine.co.uk online as they now have one for your area and they are always advertising childcare etc

Personally, I wouldn't want children here till 7pm (unless it's a occasional one-off) purely because I already work 7.30am - 6.15pm, which is plenty long enough. However, I do know minders that would do that (but we're not in your area). The only thing that would make me change my mind is lots and lots and lots of money! I agree with suggesting a short-term trial period to start. Good luck!
