Childminding for 2 days - WWYD?

Hi,

I'm going for a few job interviews Tues/Weds next week - trying to cram them into the shortest time possible, as DS is just 5 weeks at the moment.

DP is at work and can't get the time off and the family are not around that week - has anyone ever had to book childcare for just a couple of days and if so, what is the best way to go about it?

The interviews won't last all day (I will try to schedule half days) but we're willing to pay a bit more for the short notice/time period.

This is the first time I've thought about childcare - help!!

where abouts are you?

Hi,

In South East London - would be willing to take DS to a childminder/babysitter if babysitters ever do that, or have them to ours.

Just not sure how to go about it and where one even finds a babysitter!

I think you're more likely to find someone who is able to come to yours - try nanny agencies that cover your area and ask if they have any temps interested in a couple of days. It probably will be quite expensive but you'll want someone relatively experienced for such a little one.

A CM will be limited in spaces and can only have 1 under-1 at a time.

I'm registered on emergencychildcare.co.uk and have had bookings for just a few days. I'm not in London though, but I'd think you would easily find someone who is.

As mentioned, look on www.emergencychildcare.co.uk... CMs, nannies etc. are on there.

Give Louise at Cocoon UK a call.
She has really helped me out and always seems to have someone to hand.

Thanks for your suggestions!

I'll contact emergencychildcareco.uk an cocoon.uk tomorrow. Hopefully we can sort something out for next week!

:)
