Not quite sure where to post this but has anyone got a cake or biscuit recipe I could use for a group of 3 children where one child has an allergy to eggs, nuts.
I'm off to google to see what I come up with but would really like a tried and tested recipe.
We have plenty of time to mix and cook, i've got 2 3 year olds and a 1 year old so lots of mess!!

I made these Shortbread Biscuits yesterday and they turned out reasonably well. Found I needed to add a little milk to help bind the mixture better, so it could be cut out into circle shapes (used a babies bottle top cover as a cutter).

Recipe uses: butter, sugar, flour (and in my case a little milk).

I have milk and egg allergic dd so loads of tried and tested recipes up my sleeves! What sort of thing are you looking for? Have a lovely recipe for coconut and cherry cake which the 3 yr olds practically made by themselves last week - lots of measuring out, rubbing in, cutting up cherries and mixing. Something as simple as jam tarts is also easy to make and egg free and great for the 1 year olds as they like to play with the pastry.

Bananas can work as a substitute for eggs in some recipes. Everything does slightly taste of banana.
Try googling no egg recipes.

Our favourite (also sugar free and can be dairy free):
100g self raising flour, 100g butter/marge (works best with something dairy free, eg Pure), 100g sultanas, 3 tablespoons stewed apple (usually 1 Bramley), 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon.

Mix all together (do this while the stewed apple is still warm as it melts all the butter and is easier to stir). Put into 10 fairy cake cases. Cook for approx 20 mins on Gas 5.

My son has been eating these since he was about 10 months as I felt to bad eating cake in front of him but didn't want him to have lots of sugar!
