Hi my name is Sam. I have been childminding for a year and a half. I live in Poole. I have vacancies for ages 1-5. Please add me to your list, I need to find some new clients. Is there anyone out there who finds this time of year quiet, with all the little ones going of to start school?

Earthymama · 22/08/2006 11:13

Hi guys, I'm Earthymama, childminding in South Wales, near Newport. I'm one of the 'grandmother' generation of childminders; I began so that I could help my children out and also have time for my elderly parent.

I wish I had done this years ago; I don't think I could go back to being stuck in one environment all day long.

Of course there are ups and downs; the month when no-one paid me on time; when the kids hate each other; when it rains for two weeks without stopping!! These are compensated by the way littles run in without a backward glance; when they are still talking about a visit to a museum or the pizza we cooked weeks ago. (I met a grandparent recently who said my word is law in their house; No, Emama says those drinks make you poorly!! You must say Good morning in the shop. I bet they all hate me!!)

I must tell you I can kill any thread on MN stone dead, so expect this to be last post on this topic!!

So, hi guys, hope to meet up at some point?
