Do you charge parents for their hols? Do you charge when you take yours?

Are you asking about nannies or childminders?

Nannies are usually paid for their annual leave. I think the average arrangment is five weeks paid holiday each year, with 2.5 weeks chosen by the parents and 2.5 weeks chosen by the nanny.

Our nanny gets 8 weeks full pay but that is on the understanding that we choose all the dates. She can't choose any of them.

I don't charge anything when I go on holiday (2 weeks in summer, some time at Christmas).

I charge half-fee when parents take annual holiday, full fee for occasional days. If they take their holiday when I take mine, I do not charge.

No charge for my 4 weeks annual holiday, full charge for parents, but I then work my charges out 48wks/52wks so that I still get paid when on holiday Smile

I charge nothing when I'm not available and full fee when I am available.

Parents can take as many, or as few holidays as they like and so can I. I do however appreciate that if I were to book 6 months off, I might lose some business Grin, so it is usually between 3-5 weeks (3 weeks booked already this year, 1 week in the Summer and 2 at Christmas, no others planned yet).

I close for 2 weeks - no fee
Parent pay whatever

But this year I am having an extra 3 days & my ladies are covering for me so exciting

PaulaMummyKnowsBest · 19/02/2011 15:57

if I am open, the families pay and if I am closed (due to illness or holiday), I don't charge

Ditto. In my contract I reserve the right to take up to 6 weeks hols plus 5 training days. I usually take my hols during school hols and most of my chn are TTO so not affected but this year I'm taking 2.5 weeks in June as we are going to Florida with my parents (1st time my kids have ever flown!) I always take 1wk christmas, 1 week Easter, 2 weeks summer & usually May 1/2 term but this year I'm wkg May & only 1week in Aug.

I take six weeks holiday at half fees per year. Parents can take what ever they like but would pay full fees.

6 weeks and no charge to parents.
They can take whatever they like too at no charge (I am glad of the free time Grin
