I'm stuck for activities to do with 2 of my mindee's they're nearly 2(girl) and 3(boy)
They're only here half days (4hours) so I can't really do big outings with them only the local park but they get bored after 30 mins.

Acivities we do already:

Painting - younger one gets upset at getting messy
Gluing and glitter - older one cries when I don't let him tip it on the floor!
Jigsaws
Reading - though they like to rip books
Face Painting
Baking

They like playing with all the toys I have but I want to find other activities for them to enjoy

Any ideas?

Pasta play : Big bowl, lots of spoons cups etc and different shaped dried pasta! Easy to clean up and also they can do so much with it!

Play dough?

painting with water on path or patio area?

Gloop (cornflou & water) is great on a tray
Playdoh
Musical instruments - they don't have to be real you can make them one day and use them another
Bubbles - put sone in a dish and each have a straw (cut a small hole about 2 inches from the top) Then blow - you can make a great pile of bubbles
ice cubes on a tray (great for a hot day)
Dancing
Puppets (using old socks - again make one day and use another)

Remember they are at yours to have fun....don't make it too educational

Thank you! If I make play dough how long should it keep?

I make it with

1 cup salt
1 cup water
2 cups flour

I tried putting it in an air tight container but 2 days later it was just goo!

2 cups plain flour
1 cup salt
2 cups water
2 tabspn water
2 teaspn cream of tartar
food colouring

Cook gently until it thickens then knead

lasts 2 -4 weeks (depends on how much it's chewed)

a couple of tried and tested ideas.
salt dough moddeling.
200ml water.
300grm flour.
300grm salt.
1tbs veg oil.
bake for 20mins at 180deg.

paper bag puppets.
Draw on a paper bag then put your hand inside.

mask making.
use a large paper plate and cover it to make a mask, a lion or cat are the most popular here.

veg printing.

good luck.
