Its days like that that make me wish we got an hours lunch break away from the children, and then I m sure we wouldnt find that last hour so draining, hope it goes ok for you

underpaidandoverworked · 15/02/2011 13:00

I'm doing 7 - 6 today, did 7.30 till 6 yesterday, then parent wondered why I said 'no' when was asked to work till 7 tomorrow!

I currently do a 53 hour week (the norm for the past 9mths!) and am absolutely buggered!

Friends think I'm being unsocial when I trun down their offers of a night out, but I dont have time for my family, let alone them!!! My 6yr old DS is struggling with mindees being around as much and I think I may have to reevaluate my life in general. I started minding to spend time with him but now he's at school I never see him. I'm too tired for 'adult' time with OH too Sad.

Off to get some caffeine to keep me awake............

Saltire · 15/02/2011 13:09

They are both sleeping so that's why I am here.
I am fucking knackered

Caffeine and chocolate help, don't have time for meals and too knackered to think about proper food when the little devils angels go home lol Smile

Will need Slimming World membership at this rate - wonder if I could claim fees as a business expense................ Hmm

Saltire · 15/02/2011 13:23

I won't need slimmign world as never have time to eat. All I seem to do is
work
clean
paperwork
sleep, every day the same

tbh your days arent long - they are 10+11hrs days which i thought was the norm for a cm/nanny?

but if used to shorter then yes anything past normal hours is long :(

ouch at 7am, ive done a few and its hard, though prob harder for me as i have to get to work at 7am so actually up and leave my house earlier lol

im doing 14hrs today as mb/db out this eve

but all will be in bed by 7pm tonight :)

least they are asleep now saltire :)

passes Wine for after 7pm and Brew to drink now to saltire and upow

RosieGirl · 15/02/2011 14:34

I am doing exactly the same hours as you underpaid, its not just the hours, but the cleaning and paperwork after they have all gone.

As it happens I do have some part-time spaces and had a potential parent due to come this afternoon. She called me at 8.30am to apologise that she couldn't make it today re-arranging for another day, what made me smile is that she apologized for calling me so early Grin, I had my first children arrive at 7am, I don't think parents understand the hours I work as all of them use me on a part-time basis.

underpaidandoverworked · 15/02/2011 14:44

Why thank you Blondes - will enjoy that later! Grin

Rosie, I am soooo far behind with my paperwork it's unreal! By the time mindees go home, I do what needs to be done for my own family, sort uniform for next day etc - it's time for bed!!! OH went back to work last week after longterm sick and am really missing him doing the school run - and just having some adult company there through the day Sad

Right - one of littlies awake, off for now..........

looneytune · 15/02/2011 15:04

I work 7am - 6pm Mon-Fri with overnight stays too (and of course all the paperwork, cleaning etc like most others) and I'm knackered all the time (although got this week off) BUT.......I'm thinking for Saltire this is worse as she's got 'that family' I presume? Maybe that's what she meant by it, that's how I took it anyway.

How are you anyway Saltire?

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/02/2011 15:55

true looney - hadnt thought of that

fudgesmummy · 15/02/2011 19:50

I worked 65 hours last week and then spent the whole weekend doing paperwork sometimes a nice little office job seams tempting......!!!
