Please help am starting college in September want to do this NVQ level 3 as I understand the goverment want 50% of the settings to have staff with this qualification.

Would I be better working for a preswchool or a childminder?,as I need to be assessed and also would probably have to do it for free, unless I send an email to all preschools asking for two paid days whilst I fund myself any ideas please.

Do you mean the new certificate and diploma for the children and young people's workforce?

I can't find an NVQ by that name so if it existed it's lost its accreditation and you shouldn't be able to start it with a reputable college in December. Can you find a link to the course you mean?

If you mean the diploma (which is equivalent to an NVQ3) you can do it as a CM or whilst working with one or in a preschool or as a nanny...it's designed for everyone working with children and there's not much difference between what a CM is obliged to do and what a preschool is obliged to do. As a nanny it would be harder but several are doing it nonetheless.

You could also volunteer to help out in reception at a school if you can't find what you want.
