Very interesting comments on OFSTED.

Gist seems to be that salaries have increased above inflation but parents expect more in terms of hours and duties.

Irritatingly they're still quoting net weekly as an average.

"58 per cent of Nannytax clients seeing Ofsted as a mark of high standards."

Sounds like 58% of parents (well those who use Nannytax and completed the survey) are confused as to what being Ofsted Registered means and probably also what Ofsted is there to do.

Ofsted lay down Minimum Standards in my view and regarding nannies there are very few things that make up the minimum standard.

An awful lot of parents are confused about what OFSTED are there to do for nannies IMO. Also an awful lot of parents are effectively being deceived by OFSTED because the process if failing to do what it says on the tin. It's actually quite shocking the number of nannies who've managed to register without insurance or any form of common core at all and even got away with it at inspection. They gave the example of the agency owner who just ticked the boxes on the form and managed to get registered despite knowingly not having any of the right documentation and that's not an isolated case. Most of them are coming to light through people asking questions out of genuine ignorance but it makes me wonder how many are intentionally deceiving the system and have no intention of making good.
