Childminder demand - North Hertfordshire

Hello Everyone,

I was hoping to get some feedback from mums and existing childminders in the North Herts area to see if there is a demand for more childminders in the area, specifically Letchworth/Hitchin?

I'm wondering if its viable to care for another child (approx age 12-15 months)alongside my DD who is nearly a year old.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

hi

have a word with your local Early Years team at your LA to see if there is demand at the mo

You can have up to 2 mindees under the age of 5 as you have one under 5 of your own already

This might limit your earning power as the Big Money is in the tinies - you would be 1/3 down income-wise til your child goes to school IYSWIM

so say you could offer 8am to 5pm 4 days a week at £5 per hour (random figure plucked from the air) - this equates to £45 day per child, if you fully filled both places ( abig IF at the moment) but only £90 per day in toto, extrapolate upwards, including time off (you will need to take at least 2 weeks off, more is better tbh as this is a KNACKERING job)and see if you could make enough to live on
