She is not happy to play with any other toy or anything else that is not related to disney princesses or barbie. She only wants pink stuff and is not totally happy with me because I dont have all the princess dresses, I have only 1 fairy which is not tinkerbell and is purple even though it is beautiful and sparkly she refuses to wear. Asks for princess dvd all the time...
I dont know what to do to keep her amused

Can you adapt the activities and resources around disney princesses for a while until she starts to prefer the activity over the princesses ie -

  • Sensory play - disney princesses in the water tray swimming, in the sand tray,
  • Home corner is a castle, a woodland, under the sea depending on the princess
  • Use resources to build a castle (building blocks), a carriage (junk modeling)
  • Art activities to include making a dress for the princess, bubble painting for princess arial,
  • Look out for animal footprints like snow white etc

I went to wilkinsons and got a large piece of their disney princess wallpaper cut around the princesses and laminated them to make small paper people which we have used as puppets, as small world characters, used them to walk through a story (like a story sack)

But even the mother is fed up
I was actually thinking of divert her interests a little bit, so maybe I should encourag the 24 hour princess thing...?

what's the 24 hour princess thing?

I think sassy means the princesses and only princesses obsession.

Adapting activities to engage her is the best way forward IMO. Her interests will branch out in time but for now it seems she's in a princess phase!

How long has this been going on?

tbh she sounds a little bit of a spoilt princess herself... 'she isnt happy with me because I dont have all the princess dresses'

tough thats life.. she needs to know that the world (and you)doesnt revolve around her desires all of the time..

I wouldnt overindulge any child in this way, my own or a mindee..

ignore the sulks, play princesses with her some of the time but go walking, soft play, library etc.. she will move on in the end its just a phase..

When she's bored enough she'll play with something else!!!!
