Ideas for observations for 2 year old boy

I look after a 2.4 month old boy. I think he is a little delayed with some things and I want to do some activities to support him, can anyone help me come up with ideas. He is very floppy in his arms and hands when it comes to doing things such as playdough, drawing etc, I think really its his fine motor skills. For example, if I give him a yoghurt to eat he will dip the spoon in but not do anything to lever any out. I try to get him to hold the pot with one hand and scoop with the other but he seems to find it hard to do both at once. He also does not like getting at all sticky or messy and has a short attention span. Im finding it hard to think of things and would really appreciate some ideas.

Thanks

I think the observations that you mean are different to the ones I did as an NNEB student however could you

blow bubbles and hold the wand in his hand and guide his arm to his mouth to blow?

blow kisses

sing heads and shoulders and pay special attention to eyes and ears and nose and mouth part?

you could sing wind a bobbin with him.

what about the wooden pweg boards and hammers?

Are these what you were thinking or am i totally off scale?

thanks nickschick. Im thinking I suppose more of things to strengthen his fingers, hands nad coordinate thoughts at the same time. We do singing wind a bobbin, he can blow kisses etc...maybe I expect too much?

We do threading cotton reels with leather threads (easier for children to hold, I got them of ebay)

Something like Gears(I bought them here in UK, but cant remember where.

Fanta Color is good for finer motor as well
