Bilingual nannies

Hi

Apologies if this has been done before...

I'm looking to find a nanny for DD (who will be almost one by the time I need the nanny), and would love to get someone bilingual (German/English). My husband and I are both English but I speak fairly fluent German from university studies/time living out there, and DH's German is pretty good (around A level standard).

Does anyone have any recommendations about where to find such a nanny? Are there any decent agencies (presume you can name them on here??)? We'd need someone living out, for somewhere between 3-5 days a week (depending on what I end up working). We live in South London.

Thanks

It might be easier to get an AP? I have no knowledge of nannies, sorry.

We are similar to you - although our language is French. DSs do French at school and nursery (4 and 6) and have had a succession of French APs, and we spend several weeks a year in France. They can understand quite a lot of French, although they don't "speak" it. That will come in time. Only thing with APs (and I guess a nanny for you) is that often they are here to learn English and won't want to spend their time talking native language to children.

Hi,
My name is Corinne and I'm the owner of Nanny Consultant , I'm always very selective with the nannies I recruit in my agency ( I do have a few german nannies) if you would like to get in touch with me with all your requirements , I will be happy to help you in your search as I know how important is to find a loving & caring nanny to look after your most precious possession : your baby !

Kind regards
Corinne
