Its really not my day...now I have had a prospective parent not turn up!!!

How I just love sitting in all morning waiting for a prospective parent to just not turn up. Is it really too much to ask for a phone call / text / email? Even if they have changed their mind and don't need a childminder / dont want to visit etc.

Sorry to hear it. People can be quite inconsiderate. I tend to phone families the night before ,and very rarely the morning of the interview. Its not appropriate.
Imagine if they turned up and we just werent there.

grrrrr.
Take it on the chin and think of it as a good thing they didnt come. Imagine if you took them on , and they were just as inconsiderate.

I've had this happen before. One cheeky cow phoned back a month later and said "yeah, I didn't need you after all, but I do now, do yous still have the place?"

For you? NO!

I've learned now to phone them if they are more than half an hour late and ask if they are ok?

I did text, but have heard nothing.

Guess they don't need a childminder after all!

Shame really as they were looking for something very specific that only I can offer....

Oh well, mystery over, mum forgot! And knowing her situation, it is understandable.

Dont normally do second chances but hey hoo...

This drives me nuts. I have gad several "no shows". It is unbelievably rude and I dread to think how the kids will turn out if that is the sort of example the parents set.
