I understand tax allowances and my deductables for rent, heating, lighting etc but i have bought things like a slow close toilet seat for the toilet used by mindees. of course this is also going to be used by the rest of the house hold. i decorated the loo to make it more child friendly (you get the idea). do i claim 33% of these costs as they were for the business but will be used by the rest of the house hold?

many thanks Smile

I put full amount through because things like that I wouldnt purchase if I wasnt minding Smile.

Same with DS toys that I buy - mindees play with them while he is at school so a business expense as far as I am caoncerned. Have yet to start my accounts - 4 weeks and counting Sad

Ask yourself if you weren't cming would you have bought it?

If the answer is no, you only bought it because of cming then you should put it through.

Altho i put through loads of stuff that i buy that i may not have bought if i wasn't cming, for instance all toys and art supplies i buy i put thru my books.
