Hey there,

My name is Clare I'm 25 and I am a mum of 1, a little girl called Coral who attends a local school in Teddington. I currently work full-time for a computer firm but recently looking to change careers and look after children full-time!

Being a mum myself I am aware of the worries of choosing the right childcare for your children, this is why I am offerering after-work/weekend babysitting service. I myself find it hard to look for 'Babysitters' as they can be quite young and not as aware as I would like. I couldn't think of anyone better and more equipt to look after my children than a MUM.

I am a very bubbly warm and considerate mum. My daughter and I are best friends that have the best connection I could ever hope for.
I have been known by friends and collegues as the 'Child Whisperer' as all children whatever their nature I manage to get on with.

I am very practical but yet fun at the same time kids never stop smiling around me. I am adventurous when reading stories but also aware that homework or other things have to be done.

At weekends I go Swimming, Walking, Crazy Jungle, Busy Park, Dog Walking, play parks, picnics and farms/zoo's.

All my family work within Childcare so have emergency help if required. I have a Basic food hygenie Cert. and have basic training on first aid.

I am available Mon-Fri 7pm - 12am (on occasions I may need to bring my daughter)

On Sat anytime from 8am - 12am
On Sun anytime from 9am - 9.30am

My Prices are as follows:-

£8 per Hour for 1-3 children above 1yr old on a week day evening.

£12 per hour for 1-3 children above 1yr old on a
Weekend (reduced to £10 per hour if I have them for more than 7 hours including overnight)

Please contact me directly on 07921 249 534

I am able to take children aged under 1, however I wouldn't like to state a particular price as some babies may require more needs than others so I would have to discuss this option on a more individual basis, please call for more information.

All my charges are inclusive of Petrol and extra expenses food, daily short trips. Excluding Zoo's and Large adventure Parks ie Chessington etc.

Are you a registered childminder coralswhisper? If not I think what you are offering is not legally allowed as you would not be employed as a nanny.

Hi,

I have re read the ad and understand your point. :-)

I have revised the ad in Childcare.

Interesting point here. When does a babysitter become a nanny. Surely a parent can hire a babysitter without having to take her on as an employee. If I hired someone like coral to look after my kids now and then on a Saturday, that seems like a babysitter to me. Now, if I hired her 9-5 every weekday, then obviously that's a nanny.

Anyone know the legal position on this?

Also, I think you have to look after other people's children in your own home to be a childminder. Is that right?

Furthermore, what if you look after children outside of your home and outside of their home. Are you a nanny? childminder? neither? Is this legal?

Sorry for all the questions. I'm just curious.
