Fair enough, she's got a better offer, two children rather than my one. But what to do now? The before school and after school club is fairly crap, other childminders haven't impressed me much. Arghh, why is it so hard? Can I give up work and do the school run?

"Can I give up work and do the school run?"
Don't know... can you? Only you know the answer to that one!

You might be able to - would that be a solution that you'd be happy with?

If not, get onto your local council - they should have a list of registered childminders. Then start phoning, and phoning and phoning and asking for recommendations and asking to be put on waiting lists and visiting, until you find a solution that you're happy with.

We were in the same position 8 months ago. We've now got a much better arangement than we had before Smile

You can give up if you want to shaft your career. Or you could just find another childminder!

Is your current CM able to recommend another one?

Thank you, for knocking some sense into me. It's a bit drastic to give up work, I'll find someone else. Just fed up, really like her, she's been brilliant and now I have to start again.
