CMs - Please can I ask for some positive vibes (having slight panic attack!)

Not the end of the world but I'm stressing and could do with some positive vibes.....

As some of you know, I've had this week off. Due to new found motivation, at last minute I decided to scrap the relaxing break I needed after my 4 months without, and to decorate our lounge instead. This has involved ripping out old concrete type of fireplace, bashing in plyboard, plastering a wall, ripping out old carpet and skirting board on top of the usual mass amount of sanding, basecoating, painting, glossing etc. I'm due to have 5 kiddies for breakfast tomorrow (breakfast mindees will be here by 7.15am) and at the moment I'm in a lounge which needs new skirting putting up, a LOAD of units bringing in (being stored in playroom) which will take ages as will need emptying and refilling, shelving put up and filled with electrical stuff and what not and THEN we can clean and hoover/wipe the entire downstairs, including playroom (which has been a storage room). We still need to fit in trick or treating with the boys, finish off one last bit of homework (eldest) then usual bath, bed routine. Of course the boys will need dinner at some point too.

Please tell me this CAN be done!! I do not want to be up til the crack of dawn like many days this week. On top of all this I have a dreadful cold :( boo hoo.

So, please send your positive thoughts my way....pretty please!!!!

Thanks Grin

Hi,

Sending positive vibes (think you may need them!) Hope you manage to fit it all in - could you clear playroom and just use this room for minding tomorrow and maybe give yourself a bit more time to finish off lounge. I know it would mean completing it in eves but at least you could go to bed at a more reasonable time - (but if you have overnighters then that would be difficult too).

Good luck.

Can you borrow a teenager to play with the children?

You'll be fine

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 31/10/2010 16:00

Thanks for the vibes. Unfortunately not possible not to use the lounge as it's the way through to the stairs (for naps) and also where they come into the house. The lounge and the playroom are the most used rooms and if we don't finish the lounge being put back together, the playroom can't be used anyway due to storing all our stuff! lol

The stuff I mentioned was vital stuff, we've already had to leave some of the decorating that we could get away with leaving (coving, another wall plastered, rest of room skirting, further coats of gloss, big shelves put up once glossed etc).

I'm pleased to say the skirting that had to be done has been done, flooring finished and dh is currently bringing units in (I can't help as he won't let me take his millions of books out as they are in a set order lol). Oh, just seen he's putting some of the shelves up too. We may just make it!! :)

Brilliant - sounds like you may get it all done.

KatyMac · 31/10/2010 16:22

Oh good luck - I'd offer to help but I have a broken toe

HSMM · 31/10/2010 18:28

Find a space for breakfast, then slum it at toddlers and leave hubby to clear up :)

bloodsuckingLOONEY · 31/10/2010 19:58

Well we've called it a day now as both feel dreadful and really need to eat as not really eaten today. We managed to do most and have just decided to leave a few bits in the playroom and tomorrow the toys can be in the lounge and playroom out of bounds. We'll be out a lot anyway! At least the kitchen is clean and tidy (it was totally covered in stuff too!!

Katy - poor broken toe, hope it heels soon!

HSMM - breakfast wouldn't have happened if I hadn't sorted it properly in there, you should have seen it!! Plus I have to use 2 different tables for 5 of them so no space anywhere else. At least I don't have to worry about that now :) Are you going to toddlers tomorrow? If you do, might seen you down there.

Right, off to get these boys in bed then can think about eating etc :)

Thanks again for the positive vibes!
