How does it differ from childminding - are you getting any advise from your EY team? (we aren't)

no ey team is useless as is new childminding co-ordinator what bit are you struggling with is there any thing I can help you can send me private message if you want

KatyMac · 28/10/2010 18:55

Well I think the differences are:

  1. ratios
  2. numbers of toilets
  3. Qualifications of carers
  4. Additional written policies
  5. No less than 2 people on the premises
  6. ??

What else is there?

ATM I am looking into this, but I think the restrictions are too prohibative

KatyMac · 28/10/2010 22:56

TBH I can't see that many differences - what are you worried about?

Hi All
just reading you topic "childcare on domestic premises" I am much interested in this topic because I am thinking of doing this myself. When I spoke to Ofsted they said there are not many people who do this type of provision. I know I have to talk to planning and I can claim EYE vouchers providing you do not get a satisfactory. I know that you are allowed four people to work with you.

I am a little frustrated as to what exactly I need to be doing. I would be interested in knowing how you are getting on with setting this up LesbianMummy1. I own a Day Care and the council are killing me with the rent. The council are not open to any long term reduction in rent and where I live there are not many alternative venues so the other option is to go back to my house.

At present I have a very good business going but I do not want to disappoint my parents (or let down too many).

I hope I am not being to cheeky in asking LesbianMummy1
