CRB checks on nanny/ housekeeper - DIY How to

We have found a lady who seems to make a good nanny housekeeper candidate through Gumtree - hurrah

(To cut a long story short the agency was useless - wanted to charge us £2,500 for a 6 month placement and sent one candidate only, refused to give direct phone line only a general 08 number that I cannot use on my phone, were slow answering emails etc)

However, I understand private employers cannot do a CRB check for obvious confidentiality reasons. That would have been an advantage of the agency.

Does anyone know if there are agencies / screening or vetting outfits who would do an enhanced CRB check on her (obviously with consent)?

I think she can do it herself and show you the certificate when its done. I know it used to be like that but maybe things have changed

Congratulations on finding someone [hsmile]

Busy bees often CRB people not on their books. Otherwise a company like civil and corporate can do them on individuals as they're an umbrella body.

It's not so much confidentiality as needing to be a registered body with the CRB.

I would be happy to do it for her.

How do we go about it?
How do I contact you BusyBee?
