Flexible hours but parents asking for care outside working hours

We have recently started with a contract that has basic hours but has flexible hours with it. We recieved a email today that came with a excel sheet of the hours for next week.

Most of them are fine. Totally doable. But next Tuesday they are asking for the child to be picked up 30 mins outside of our working day.

We can understand why it needs to be done as last week it was impossible for the mum to get to us in time. Traffic was horrid and she was 20 mins late. This would allow for the traffic.

But we don't want them taking libertys in asking for longer and longer time over our working hours. Do you think that we need to say yes to this but charge them more for that time to discourage them wanting to incress time? What would you do. Our hours are 7.30 - 6.00.

Do they know you are only open 7.30-6.00? When you discussed flexible hours, did they seem to understand they must be within these hours? My contract specifies that hours outside the normal working day are charged at double time and must be agreed in advance (so I can say no). You can say no, or you can say yes, but these additional hours may not always be available. Up to you.
