Nannynick, I know you're not far from me :) I was wondering if you could just quickly (when you get a minute) list 2 or 3 of the places you go/day trips with your charges, to add to my ideas for places to take ds (2 yo/24 months). He likes dinosaurs, animals, diggers, trains... etc.

I know you're out and about a lot so was hoping to pick your brain :)

Chessington zoo we do often (have passes). We also went here recently, but it's not open often enough. If it was, we'd go daily Grin

Just found the below- but not sure how appropriate it is!

LOVE Horton Park! I wich check out Fishers and good idea for the RSPCA - never even thought of that!

I may go to beckonscot with him :) What fun! A bit pricey, but not too bad for a special day.

Hounslow Urban Farm - small farm near Heathrow Airport

Train to Reading then ride the lifts/escalators at John Lewis (nearly 3 year old I nanny loves doing this - likes trains and lifts and escallators)

StarExpat · 15/10/2010 11:33

Yes! Been to pets at home. Very, very fun - especially on a rainy day :)

I am about a 10 minute drive from you, Funky2Sarah :)

Fab idea to go ride escalators (Bentalls centre in Kington would do this!) Thanks!

Sorry to gatecrash but there is a soft play & farm in Sandhurst that I find really good - if you just go to the farm it's only a few quid - called Trilakes. Wellington is good too but abit more pricey, but worth it.

nannynick · 15/10/2010 12:13

I've heard that Jakes is taking over Little Angles@Trilakes. Anyone been recently.,. is it now a Jakes@Trilakes?

Funky2sarah · 15/10/2010 12:13

My charge used to love the lifts in John lewis as well.
There is a bus that takes you from Kingston to heathrow cannot quite rember the number its the 28 something i thing and its the single decker rather then the double decker Honslow service it seems to go around the airport brillant veiw of the hangers etc and as transport is free within the airport the tubes and trains are fun used to be a vistors centre but do not know what happend to that.
Kew gardens is not that far away have a brillant kids area.
Richmond park Bushy park etc
Hampton court the maze is fun
Trips on the river boat calls at Hampton court Kingston Richmond etc
I know that it might be a bit far but in Kent which is where i am from they have a place called digger land bascially you get to play with real diggers the staff are brillant although the food is dugusting. My last charge this was his ultimate day out still likes it now and he is 13

StarExpat · 15/10/2010 13:49

I must go to diggerland Grin A day trip is in order for that!

We go to hampton court quite often as it's nearby. Just the gardens, though.

Will check out Kew!

Thanks everyone!

Bus to heathrow/houslow I think 281? Or 111? Can't remember - but that might be good - to watch airplanes!
