Hurrah -got a job. Now panic is setting in as I need to find childcare for 4 children. My youngest will be going to a childminder but I would prefer my other 3 to be able to come home after school. Has anyone used a website or other way to search for a mothers help that they'd recommend?

Local childcare board on Netmums.
Reply to ads on Childcare.co.uk
If in an area with a local Gumtree.com board - advert on there.
Advert in local newsagents/spar shop type place.

Hello

After running around like a headless chicken and totally afraid of hiring a nanny myself I contacted a few agencies, wellington nannies far too expensive, sitters, only do accasinal, butterfly nannies whom I saw an advert for on baby london with a special offer voucher, not sure if they are still doing the offer but check! I hired a nanny form them a few weeks ago.

P.S Hi nannynick!

If you're getting a nanny why not get a FT one that will have your younger one all day, sort your older 3 after school and do nursery duties and save you the hassle of getting them all out the house in the morning! Probably easier to find...

I'd add to nick's excellent list nannyjob.co.uk
