What to do about transition now?

Hi

I was supposed to go back to work on the 6th of Dec but due to an error with my annual leave I have more time to take than I thought and now only have to work three days before Christmas. I have term time only hours at childcare so after those three days I am off for the Christmas hols.

We were supposed to start transition after half-term and I don't want to cause difficulty for my CM, who obviously will be expecting income from that time. However now the "transition" will go on for two whole months, really..

I don't really want my boy going in childcare for three days a week while I'm off (I'd be bored apart from anything) but I don't want to string out a massive transition when we will be off for Christmas and maybe undo it all?

What's the best thing to do here? I appreciate I may have to pay the CM for the hours I said but what's the best thing to arrange to do to help settle my son?

Why not talk to her and tell her what you've said here. I can't see a major problem in delaying the transition so long as she's paid from when she's expecting it.

Hey just think of all that free time to xmas shop Grin.

I think its great that you are thinking of your childminder, Have a chat to her maybe you can agree on mornings or afternoons, I am sure as you are fulfilling your agreement she will be happy to accommodate you in other ways.
