CHILDMINDERS CLUB: Attendance Record........

HellyBelly · 10/09/2005 16:44

Hello

I started my first school pickup this week and am just writing it all in my attendance record provided by the NCMA.

I charge from 3pm as that's when I leave the house and I have to be at the school for 3.15pm. The mindee gets picked up at 5pm and I told them I'd have to charge 2 hours per day as otherwise it wouldn't be worth it (as the school it a bit away)

ANYWAY.....what time do I put in the record as the arrival time? Is it when they arrive at my house or when I charge my minding from???

Hellybelly, for my school pickups I put the time that I pick them up i.e 3.30pm as arrival time.

HellyBelly · 10/09/2005 16:56

I have to be at school from 3.15pm when they come out but she doesn't actually get to my car until 3.30pm so I'll put 3.30pm - I've never had an inspection since minding as only started on 4th July, do they cross reference attendance to payment at all?

By the way, got another question kcemum - do you use the NCMA contracts?

OP posts:
kcemum · 10/09/2005 17:01

Yes I do use NCMA contracts.

If you put down the time that she leaves school as apposed to the time that you leave then this would cover you if something were to happen in that time, i.e she would be under the schools care and not yours.IYSWIM

kcemum · 10/09/2005 17:03

Sorry you should put 3.15 as that is when she comes into your care from school. Never had payments cross checked as it's an individual minder thing.

HellyBelly · 10/09/2005 17:05

Good point!! Thanks for that!

As for NCMA Contracts, I've just had 2 mums wanting new contracts so I need 3 new contracts in total. I was hoping to do them this weekend but I've just checked and I've actually only got 2 left (didn't realise you got so little in the pack!). Do you know if you can photocopy them (front and back of course) and them at all?

katymac · 10/09/2005 17:05

I agree with kcemum - if you put 3.15 and she fell ver in the grounds you would be responsible

However if she is out of schol at 3.15 that maybe when you are responsible (iyswim)

My Ofsted has never asked about money

katymac · 10/09/2005 17:06

Do you want me to post you one....you can replace it when you get some more?

kcemum · 10/09/2005 17:08

Not sure about photocopying them, I've got too many as ordered two packs by mistake!

HellyBelly · 10/09/2005 17:10

Oh Kcemum, that would be GREAT!!

I'm just about to order some from the NCMA website so can post one back when they arrive. I'll CAT you my address.

I've also got to do a temporary contract for 4 Friday's until the new contracts commence. I was thinking of doing a quick thing on Word - do you think this will be ok for just 4 days?

Thanks again Kcemum, you're a star!!

Sorry, I always get confused between you too and I've put the wrong name - haven't read all posts actually!

OP posts:
katymac · 10/09/2005 17:13

I think we both offered you one...don't worry I'm not offended and I'm sure kcemum isn't either

kcemum · 10/09/2005 17:13

Oh the shame, it wasn't me it was Katymac, I would offer but I've run out of stamps and wouldn't be able to get any till Monday, Bless katymac, she's a goodun!

katymac · 10/09/2005 17:15

Do you need a child record form too?

kcemum · 10/09/2005 17:15

P.S don't get katymac mixed up with me, She knows far more than me!

HellyBelly · 10/09/2005 17:18

No probs, just feel stupid for not reading the posts properly!!

Katymac - if you could send me one that would be GREAT! I'll send one when I get mine and send a stamp so you don't loose out! Can I CAT you my address?

As for the times, I think I'll put 3.15pm as that's when she leaves the school. It just takes a while for her to get to me as she's chatting to mates etc (she's nearly 10). Just hope nothing happens between leaving school and getting to me! I'd pick her up from her class but they don't want me doing that.

katymac · 10/09/2005 17:19

No probs as soon as I get your address I'll go out in the rain and post it

HellyBelly · 10/09/2005 17:20

Yes, Katymac is a wealth of knowledge isn't she!!

Katymac - I'm ok for child record forms thanks.

I wait in the playground for my mindees, the oldset is nearly 11

HellyBelly · 10/09/2005 17:24

Katymac - have CAT'd you. Please don't go out in the rain though!! It's not raining here yet but I reckon it will later.

Kcemum - I'm going to have another chat to see if I can get them to agree to me meeting actually at the school - I'd feel so better. It's because they've had this arrangement with other childminders and I don't think she likes to walk with an adult with her mates! Hopefully I can get them to change their minds if I say it's re: health and safety or something?!

OP posts:
kcemum · 10/09/2005 17:30

You'll have to see what the parents agrre too.

I got the parents of nearly 11 year old mindee to sign a disclaimer stating that they are happy for him to walk to school from a specified point on the route, providing that I check to make sure that he arrives safely. Seems to work well for us.

HellyBelly · 10/09/2005 17:33

Good idea Kcemum - this school pickup thing was such a last min request to start immediately so I never really managed to plan it all properly and the mum is always in a rush. Will set time aside to go through it all properly and get something extra signed to cover me.

I hadn't put a great deal of thought into school pickup's to start with as I was unable to guarantee having a car all the time until last week!

Thanks again for your help!

Why not email me direct I'll giveyou a cryptic clue

"My Job"ing at Walnut Corner (oneword) dot co dot uk

As Cat's sometimes take a while

HellyBelly · 10/09/2005 17:47

Right, done it!

Quick question - are we not allowed to put our proper email address on mumsnet? Only reason I ask is because I've seen LOTS and LOTS of people put ......dot co dot uk and I just wondered why they don't put it as it is? Just making sure I haven't done anything wrong as quite often I've put my proper email address!

OP posts:
ThePrisoner · 10/09/2005 17:48

I wait in school playground no matter what age mindees are!

When I record the time my mindees come, I put the contracted time down (eg. 3.15 - 5.00), which is the information I use when issuing bills. However, you must record the actual time that you have your mindees for (eg. 3.15 - 4.55/5.05/whatever). OFSTED are fine with me using my ordinary diary for this, and I just put the actual minded hours in brackets. It is all to do with who has responsibility.

katymac · 10/09/2005 18:02

If you put your proper mail there are programmes that search the internet for addresses for spam (or at least there used to be)

So if you put your proper email addy - you might get lots of spam

BTW - I don't know if that's true
