Do you follow a checklist when signing up a new mindee?

I'm just signing up a new mindee, my first for quite a while. Also, my first with CSSIW and not Ofsted.

I feel very unprepared and am convinced I've forgotten to do something very important!

I'm thinking about putting together a checklist of all the things I need to remember to do when a new child starts eg contract, permission slips, policies/procedures to read and sign.

I was wondering if anyone else does this? Am I just out of practice and it'll get more familiar once I've signed up a few more mindees?!!

If anyone can think of anything I need to do before the mindee starts, I'd be glad to hear it!

I probably should have a checklist, but I know I give out all the relevent forms, because I have them at the bottom of my filing cabinet and the front and I just pull one out of each section and put them together in a folder to get filled in (ie child details, contract, medical consent, notification of pets, photo permission, etc)
