How to say goodbye to CM?

Ds has been with CM for two years, since he was a year old. I am off on maternity leave and thought he would still go to cm but he is very vocal about how he doesn't want to go (but is always happy at drop off, once we get there).

so I'm going to give her notice and be with him myself.

I want to go round to say this in person but should I take ds? I'd like him to say goodbye, also he might go back to her in the future. Or do it one to one and arrange another visit to say goodbye?

Do I take a present? Ds won't go back to her so she'll get a month's pay without having him. So I don't feel inclined to spend more money, but maybe some flowers.

Any cms who could tell me how they'd feel would be appreciated.

Would you like your DS to be in contact with CM in future?
Our CM has kept in contact with previous kids she's worked with which makes goodbyes much easier I guess.
I'd always give a months money or present as bonus - you'd expect a little something leaving any job!

A letter of reference and maybe a bottle of wine would be good for me Grin.

Some nice parent feedback that she can show to her next ofsted inspector would probabley be very much appreciated!

ooo ok, I was going to say that of course we could be used as a reference but should we type something nice up in advance that she could give to parents/ ofsted?

So she'll get a month's money. I am not sure she drinks that much so maybe a bunch of flowers?

we might use her again, I just don't know. But I want to have a clear conscience if we bump into her in the street IYKWIM!
