you prob don't recognise the nickname as I wasn't this when I was posting in the new year. I suddenly spotted BoffinMum's post on another thread and, rather than hijack, was moved to start a new thread just to say thanks

You all gave me fab advice back in Jan/Feb time when my 1st nanny was taking the piss with sick leave and it all got horribly complicated, exacerbated by me being raw and miserable about separation from DH (v v soon to be XH...)

I just wanted to say:

Blondes, Frak and other wonderful nannies, I have lurked on threads checking out your advice - you always speak such sense

Boffin, I hope your nanny (I seem to recall you finally found a great one around that time) worked out, I assumed from the lack of new thread on the subject that the Curse of Boff failed to strike Grin

Strix, your posts always make me smile in recognition Grin

Finally, Lovely Nanny num 2 has been with me since Feb 22nd and is the best thing that has happened to me this year (close run thing with DD2 potty training, DD1 gorgeousness etc etc but YKWIM). She has been the difference on so many occasions when it looked like the wheels were about to come off. And I am following all the excellent advice from you all and others about how to ensure she sticks around. Fortunately, she seems to like us Blush, and we do feed her, though afternoon tea is not in her contract Grin

Anyway, hope you are all well

So glad it's worked out!!! Lovely news!!!

My nanny is brilliant and very much loved by everyone in the family. So all's well that ends well

mummyilubyou · 18/09/2010 22:32

god no, I read some of the threads and shake in my boots at the thought of being out there again....in fact, the thought of replacing LN#2 scares me more than replacing XH - I'd rather speed date and than go through all that again Smile

so glad it worked out for you

also glad that boffys nanny is working out, tho boffy i believe your email isnt working again, unless doesnt like my smutty porn chatty emails Smile

tbh Blondes, the things you and Frak et al say make so much sense, it's a huge help. There are times when I am so preoccupied with my view of the world that I can see littel beyond it and it is so improtant to remember my nanny's perspective. The thing you can't interview for is that she is a lovely person to have in our lives, in our house and I trust her completely (except to cook potatoes, she doesn't like them herself so crunchy mash has been known......), which is the thing that makes such a difference

anyway, I may just start commenting on some other threads round here, though am no expert (doesn't stop me elsehwere Wink) - maybe next time someone asks about why APs use so much looroll (was AP myself 20+ yeasr ago, don't think I used much loo roll but.....)

I do like them, Blondes, but I am currently being overworked by a new boss.

I would say more but this is a public forum. Wink I am currently looking for a new job.

Blondeshavemorefun · 18/09/2010 23:13

ha ha, not too smutty for you then lol

lips are over mouth, but good luck x

frakkinnakkered · 20/09/2010 03:46

Awww I'm glad your new nanny is lovely and that we can help a little.

At the end of the day we nannies can say what we want though - it's good employers who take our pov on board, even if they don't agree 100%, and treat their nanny well who get rewarded :)
