Please can anyone give me a guideline on current hourly net pay for a nanny in North London who is:

  • employed on a share basis (for part of week)
  • very experienced (10+ years with NNEB qualification / First Aid cert)
  • not Ofsted registered
  • uses own car but given separate petrol expenses
  • permanent role

Purely hypothetical you understand... Grin

Many thanks in advance for your wisdom.

Around £9 net for a non share basis and £11-£12 as part of a share.

I'd say £10ph net, £12ph net for the share.

We live in Crouch End and shared our nanny with another family. She looked after two boys, is OSTED registered and has about 7 years of nursery experience but had never been a nanny before. She was paid £10 per hour net but didn't do full nursery duties, e.g. no laundry, very limited cooking (one meal a day) and very limited cleaning up (which was a bit of an issue!).

I'd say 10£ net/hour too (12-13£ for share) given the experience and quals. although I'd hope for some evidence she/he keeps uptodate with childcare stuff.

More central north could be slightly more, zone high barnet slightly less.

Depends really how much in demand nanny is; what they are prepared to accept for the particular role e.g. duties, logistics, children numbers/age preferences etc. and what family is prepared to pay for the particular nanny.
