hello, we've just found a (lovely, hooray) nanny for 12 hours a week. am just looking at contracts, tax, NI and everything - ugh.

is it easy enough to do tax etc yourself once you get your head round it or is it actually worthwhile getting nannytax (or similar) to do it all?

thanks very much

Please do not use Nannywage! There customer service is awful, they are rude and cancel your contract if you question anything! We have used nannytax and although expensive have never had any problems with them :)

The Payroll Site is excellent and has a free trial period. They're really helpful and knowledgable but I am using them as a small business owner rather than a nanny's employer - they are only £5.75 a month. Definitely worth ringing them and asking if they can help. Printable payslips etc

I've used PAYE for Nannies for nearly 6 years now and they've always been great, and I think they are the cheapest. For a second job depending on the hours you may also have some NIC to pay as well as the 20% tax.
