Small accident at childminders today during settling in session

DS went to childminders for an hour today and an hour yesterday. He was a bit tired today and was whinging so she put him in the pram to rock him. She "looked away and took her hand off it for a second" and her own two year old pulled the handle and tipped it to the floor. DS banged his head on the pram. He did it 10 mins before I arrived to collect him and was screaming the place down when I arrived. DS is 13 months.

No accident forms were offered.

Is this normal/acceptable or not?

Thanks.

if he was still upset when you got there then she was still dealing with him so would not have had the chance to put him down and write an accident sheet. the child comes first then paperwork. you may find that she will write it and get you to sign it next time you are there. or since you already no about it she may not write it up ()although prob should) but normally if it had happen through the course of the day then a sheet would have got written up and signed by the parent at pick up time.

must be a strong 2 tr old to tip a pram over with a baby in it-was your son strapped in?accident forms should always be filled in, especially for a bump to the head.i understand that it may have been a bad time to do it and may have looked uncaring, but they are there to cover herself as much as the child. ask her next time if she filled one out and ask to see it and sign it, although its a bit late then really.
