Help!

Am a single parent with a demanding job and sometimes have to work late or travel, problem is that lots of the time I get to work at home - its all a bit random. So am looking at the possibility of hiring an au pair for the first time. Can anyone help or suggest any Online Websites that others have had success with? And also any top tips! Live in Northampton area by the way.

With thanks to all,
Meesh

Hi catepilarr and blimey - thanks for your suggestions will give them a go. if you have any tips on things not to do please let me know as I haven't had an au pair - am a bit worried the poor thing will be permanently hungry as I seem to be constantly on the way to the shops.

Cheers,
Meesh

I read through mumsnet threads but am personally on a steep learning curve still!

Meesh66 - From the sounds of it you may be wanting an au-pair to look after your children whilst you are at work. If that is the case, then while an au-pair can be left with children for a period of time, they are not experienced childcarers so keep that in mind. Are your children old enough not to be needing care as such, more just someone around?

There can be problems... Featheredheart lists some of them on this message thread.
