Hi everyone, I found pinch marks on my childs arms and he can't remember how he got them. They look fresh!
A new child started on thur, and came Fri too.
99% sure it was this child. The pinches look like they have been done with painty fingers and we did painting fri.
I was in the room though and vagely remember them having a little disagreement over sharing the paints.
I am friends with the parent and thats how i came to mind her child.
What would you do?

So are you a childminder? These things happen when you are minding so you need to refer back to your postive discipline policy/methods, read up etc.

I think what you will need to do is keep a close eye on the two of them, not leaving them alone together at all etc
How old is your son, is he old enought to tell you or can he not remember.

Children have disagreements and sometimes they get a little physical with each other, the trick is to teach them other ways to deal with conflict and disagreement.

I don't think you can say anything to the parent, as you have no proof and you aren't even sure.

Even for occasional 'spats', I do not tell the parents every little thing their child does - it would be demoralising for the child and tough going for the parent. If its continual and the injuries are bloody or large then it gets noted in the incident book

How old is the other child? Unless they're definitely old enough to know better I wouldn't make a big deal out of it at this stage or necessarily assume it was them - just give all the children a "reminder" talk about playing nicely with each other and how they shouldn't be rough/push/pinch etc if they have disagreements.
