Can any CMs help me with an EYFS question?

Hello!

Just wondered if anyone could help me. I'm returning to work in a school and was wondering if the 6 'subject' areas, or whatever they are called have specific colours attached to them. I seem to remember that the mathsy one was blue pre 2008 for example.

Thanks so much!

Yes from memory they go like this

CCLD Communication Language & Literacy - Purple

PSED Personal Social Emotional Development - Dusky Pinkish

PSRN Problem Solving Reasoning & Numeracy - Orange

KUW Knowledge & Understanding of the world - Barbie Pink

PD Physical Development - Green

CD Creative Development - Blue

I colour code mine slightly differently as the pink colours are similarish (to me anyway cos me eyesight is a bit naff) so I use a yellow instead for PSED

No probs, if you have a look on the NCMA website they sell stickers in the shop bit with little symbols representing the 6 areas, have a mooch so you can double check the colours.

Oooh, just done that. The PSED colour seems to be green like PD, not pink?

Blush I do remember that a couple were very similar which is why I substituted yellow, less chance of me mixing them up then . but the good thing about EYFS is that their is no set way of recording it so you can find a system thats unique to you IYSWIM

I'm writing up a school timetable and wanted to keep tradistional subject titles, but colour code it into EYFS areas...... as a way of keeping inspectors etc happy....... so thought the 'correct' colours would look better!!

Thank you SO much!

My EYFS poster uses

CCL Communication Language & Literacy - Orange

PSED Personal Social Emotional Development - yellow

PSRN Problem Solving Reasoning & Numeracy - purple/indigo/violet

KUW Knowledge & Understanding of the world - magenta/light purple/pink

PD Physical Development - Dark Green/Aqua

CD Creative Development - Light Green

I got a coloured pack of biros which match pretty well, but the yellow & orange aren't legible :-(
