Have you tried the FIS website (family information service yet,
or childcare.co.uk
or childminding help.co.uk

Thanks. I'm registered on all of these sites and have met and interviewed a number of people. In fact we found someone but it all fell a part at the last minute as they decided to emigrate!!
The difficulty seems to be because we are looking for someone for up to 30 hours per week, which for some is considered to be part-time hours. We also need someone who can drive...

May I ask what hours you are looking for?

I am actually a childminder in Markyate, Come September I will, (apart from fridays I have a nursery pick up at 12 noon) only have after schoolers, so will be free from 8.50 when I drop my child off at school, until 3pm, when I do the school run.
If I can help out at all till you get the Nanny/ Mothers help position sorted, please let me know.

Hi

I live in Hounslow Heath with my 2 children (age 11 and 7 ) and husband. I am looking for an after school nanny/mothers help who will pick up my 7 year old son from school, come home and wait for my daughter who will be walking home from secondary school. I am looking for someone who can look after them from 3pm to 6pm 3 times a week. I would like someone to be able to take them to them to after school activities and also look after them at my home. The schools are in close vicinity to my home. I am looking for someone who has experience with childcare, lives locally and has a car. This is a long term contract (2 to 3 years) with the possibility of it extending to 5 working days. If you know anyone that maybe interested can you please let me know.

Thanks

Have you tried posting on Facebook pages? Harpenden Parents Network and St Albans Mums are good ones. You'll probably get some suggestions.
