My CM is a friend of 7 years. She has been minding DD for 1 day a week for the last few months whilst I have been setting up my own business (not on a salary, and money is super tight as she knows)

We spoke about a contract, but one never happened. She sent me a text last week saying that she was on holiday today (she had forgotten to tell me prior) which really stuffed up my work plans as too late for me to make alternative arrangements. So, today, I have tried to work but without much success.

I received a text tonight saying that could I please put her holiday money through the door tomorrow. ie she is expecting me to pay her for today......

So, my question is, what would you do?

well no contract = no need to pay BUT she is your mate and your childcare could be up the swanney as she can terminate you immediately (cuts both ways of course)

pay her and insist you sit down and do a contract together asap

yes I was just a bit shocked to have got that text. I really do rate her as a friend but was a bit sad that she sent that as we have never discussed it

no contract,no money, esp as cm are se and se peopledont generally get paid for holidays

but obv if you (other parents) and the cm agree to paying holidays then fine

i think she is taking the piss tbh and she is ruining your friendship, not her
