Ofsted Registration Renewal - Update CRB?

My renewal paperwork came through this morning... paying was easy enough (a phone call which was promptly answered). I've requested a paper receipt (as Edenred/Accor require that - they don't seem to accept the Ofsted payment reference number).

CRB check was last done in 2007. Given that the ISA scheme is not on hold... did sort of expect Ofsted to send out the CRB form again.
Nope... no sign of that. Anyone know if Ofsted will start to redo the CRB checks?

Are CRB checks really worth doing anyway? Given the ISA scheme being put on hold - has the current government realised that these checks don't really help that much.
I'm sure parents would like the reassurance of a CRB check but then we all have a duty to inform our employers if we are charged with an offence, don't we?

Nick, dont know if it is the same for you, I dont have a CRB as I was done through the old Police Check system, I have asked each Inspection about renewing it, to be told that I dont need to, as long as I had done nothing to warrant me not working with children, the one you have is current until you change jobs!

Apparently I would tell them if I wasn't fit to work with children!
