Just thinking about it at the moment, but have no idea where to start. Zero experience, but a very active 3 year old.

You have to get in touch with your local early years officer and book onto a pre-registration course, they tell you all about it there. You have to do another course, make your house safe, learn about the EYFS and legal requirements, apply for a CRB. Write all your policies. Hmm thats about it I think! takes anything between 6 months and a year to complete registration.
