I start back on Monday.

First week took the kids out three times.

My lovely mum came and helped me out by ironing etc.

I have spent hours on childminding things ie policies. I am glad I have the time to catch up but at the same time it has gone into my family time also.

What have you been doing whilst off, or should I not ask?

I can imageine some are getting ready to jet off into the sun Smile

Love to hear your from you.

Got a week booked at the beginning of September. Still haven't booked anything, coz all too expensive! Will make sure we do day trips to the beach, etc if nothing else.

nannynick · 13/08/2010 19:20

I'm having a holiday at home... so going to the gym every day.

shoshe · 13/08/2010 19:31

Sleep!

shoshe · 13/08/2010 19:34

No actually I am off next week, DH was suppose to be off as well, but is now going on a course, so I am having a week at home on my own, ALL ON MY OWN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am having lunch with friends, book shop browsing, having a mani/pedi, seeing my DSIL, doing anything I want, without a DH/child in sight.

Bliss. Grin

MUM2BLESS · 13/08/2010 20:35

Does that mean your all up to date with your paper work? or that is not part of what you want to do Smile

shoshe you made me smile!with the sleep bit and also ALL ON MY OWN!!!!!!!!!!!

Housework, hair cut, had the grandchildren one day, met a friend for coffee in town, went on a bus trip to Midhurst, made bunting, did more sewing, gardening, family bbq, wrote notes for a new policy on sustainability, more paperwork, more housework. I've been very busy Smile

MUM2BLESS · 13/08/2010 21:08

No of course I am not up to date with my paperwork, dont be daft! Grin

Every year when I have my week off at home, I swear I will do my tax return, every last week in January I am frantically doing it!

I am not even taking the teenage Grandaduhgter Shopping this week.

I cant remember when I last had a 5 days (DH is only away during the week) all to my self, I get butterflies just thinking about it Grin

Grin @ Shoshe.

Envy and Mum2bless's mum doing her iron... still (Mum2Bless - are you sure you are not starting these threads just so that you can wind me up???

Hi, Nannynick. DS was ever so chuffed to tell his friends who he saw!

nannynick · 13/08/2010 21:34

Numberfour - surprised we don't bump into each other more often really, given that we probably go to the same places. Did you go inside at Lookout? I avoided that... leave that for quieter term-time visits.

MUM2BLESS · 13/08/2010 22:41

Sorry numberfour, I was so grateful and I wanted to let everyone know.

Mum leaves in Nottinghamshire and does not really get to spend time with us.

I did not ask her, she offered!!

I will never get a holiday if I don't finish this sodding OU homework

mumsanutter · 14/08/2010 09:10

I am now off for a week, and am going to rearrange my downstairs - swap dining and living room on monday/tuesday, cinema monday night, have a hospital appointment tuesday afternoon, alton towers on wednesday with older 2 boys (younger 2 are at nanny's and grandad's from sunday), chessington or legoland on thursday, and might take the boys on the train to london on friday.

I have no intention of doing anything remotely 'work' related, although do need to talk to a lawyer and get on with some studying - have evenings for that Grin

MUM2BLESS · 14/08/2010 10:24

Mumsanutter you really know what you want to do.

Went to Chessington not too long ago. KIds enjoyed it.

Enjoy your time off Grin

off now.. sorting out stuff for ds2 to go to uni in Sept..

chilling with my dd by going to the gym, swimming, shopping and reading... lovely lovely lovely

and have done NO BLOODY PAPERWORK this is my time off and I am having it..

looneytune · 16/08/2010 09:53

Not off until October but yes, often end up doing paperwork whilst trying to entertain the kids (no help from family as not local). I did, however, have a family holiday in June and actually went away so was forced not to do paperwork but then I come back and wish I'd had time to catch up!!

Enjoy your break everyone :)
