Hi there i am currently looking for a childminder for my 10 yr old son to begin Sept 2010. I am a student midwife about to commence a 3yr degree, so flexibility and commitment is paramount. I will be based at an islington hospital and my hours will be 8am - 8.30pm three times a week. Hospital placements happen in blocks lasting for 4 wks initially. I would need the childcarer to arrive at my home at 7am and do breakfast etc then walk my son to school, which is v.close to where we live. My son attends some after school activities and attends a local secure adventure playground so some days he would need to be collected from there at around 6pm. I would return home at 9pm so he would need his dinner cooked for him etc. Being a student midwife i would need someone that has an understanding to the pressures of the job of a midwife and someone who is able to be flexible. When mums are in labour i may have to stay with her and therefore be home later. This could be a great job for someone who is looking for somthing that isnt rigid, also my son is very funny and active and not demanding as a toddler would be! Also i am really fair and honest and respectful. When i am not on placement my university hours would be 9.30-4. during these periods i wouldnt need any help, unless my son was ill and then i would need the childcarer to be at home with him. Obviously i would require CRB checks and a registered carer male or female. Jesie
