Hello,
As the title suggests I want to do a CRB check on a prospective nanny but am unsure how to do this. Can anyone tell me what I need to do?
Thank you!

Can you google CRB and find their web site?
They may have a telephone help line, or maybe you can send them an E-mail asking for advice.

You can't get a CRB check done on an individual, it has to be done by a Registered Body.

There are some nanny agencies who will offer a service to the nanny whereby the nanny can pay to get a check done via the agency.

If you need the nanny to register with Ofsted so you can use Childcare Vouchers, then a CRB check is done as part of the Ofsted registration.

you may be able to get it done through civil and corporate

yup agree with others... as an idividual you cant do it at all

but any nanny agencies will do one for the cost + and admin fee

Thanks very much for your responses. Nannyl, so would I just call up a nanny agency (I've found the applicant via gumtree so at this stage no agency involved) & ask them to do it for me, do you know? Many thanks

im not sure...

it might be better coming from the nanny...

although i expect they would do it... its worth their while if they get their admin fee...
at the end of the day if they wont for you, they probably would for the nanny Smile

Hi

I run a nanny agency and would be happy to help if you are still needing a CRB.

You can email me at [email protected] if I can help.
