sent all my invoices out, have had a query on why i have charged for an extra half hour when they requested from half past until ...the hour. I have replied that i dont work by the half hour. I am doing them a favour by fitting in all their holiday needs (usually they are term time only) it amounts to a 1.70 difference....ffs!!!!!!!

1.70? OMG. No advice but I'm annoyed for you.

BoysAreLikeDogs · 03/08/2010 22:50

grim isn't it

sympathy

I only ever had one quibbler and in the end I gave notice because they queried every single invoice for 26 months

Poledra · 03/08/2010 22:51

Ooh, thanks for reminding me that I put our invoice in DD1's bag when leaving the CM's today. Off to find it and write a cheque!

If parents don't understand an invoice, they are entitled to ask. You on the otherhand are entitled to charge as per your agreement... so if you only change by the hour and they use part of an hour, perfectly fine to bill the whole hour.

StarExpat · 03/08/2010 23:04

Yes, nannynick, but for some reason, I'd feel really strange about questioning an hour/£1.70. I can't explain properly why at the moment because I'm a bit tired... but it just almost seems disrespectful.

Yes I check all of my bills as well. I'd likely notice the 1.70 from that invoice but I wouldn't say anything about it in the case if a bill from my cm. She works far too hard to be queried over £1.70

I used to work for a telecoms firm. We had a query passed onto us from Customer Services. A man was claiming the invoice was... wait for it!... £0.01p too much!
He'd just received the bill the day before and has spent all evening balancing up his calls and packages.

We told them to let him have his refund. Would have cost too much for us to to tot it all up and, really, he'd earned that 1p
