mindee was dropped off this morning, 5 minutes later mum returned as she had forgotten to give me his soother, 20 minutes later i have a phone call from dad asking if mindee is with me as his wife cant remember whether she dropped him off or not....
i replied of course he was with me and he laughed and said dont worry shes having a breakdown i think. she then later picked him up and seemed fine. How odd is this?! Is it completely off for me to suggest she sees a doctor. I felt quite uneasy sending him home!

Very odd. Can you have a chat with her tomorrow and ask if she's alright?

chipmonkey · 03/08/2010 20:50

Might there be trouble in the marriage? Could he be checking up on her, perhaps? Seems very odd.

Sounds like dad is stirring for some reason but that is just my gut reaction. Who have you done your "dealings" with i.e. who signed the contract etc. Did you meet them as a couple?

PotPourri · 03/08/2010 20:59

Talk to the mum and ask ger is she is alright. If you sense she is fine mention that dh called yet-streday wondering if dc was there. (dont say she forgot). Then see if she says it or is embarassed. then guage from there whether you should say the full thing he said.

Yes, it's odd.

lifeinagoldfishbowl · 03/08/2010 21:40

Would say Dad is checking up on the mum.

woahthere · 03/08/2010 22:24

No sorry youve got the wrong end of the stick...they are together and I could hear her in the background when he rang going 'Oh thats alright then'

Maybe she is in the middle of a big crisis or something.... it's odd. I just don't htink... well, maybe... but as stressed as I've ever been about anything or even when I have a million things on my mind at once, I wouldn't have forgotten what I'd done with ds... I don't think...

BradfordMum · 04/08/2010 10:38

Where would he have been if she hadn't dropped him off?!
Surely you need to be kept in the loop if mum is unwell at the moment.

moogster1a · 04/08/2010 12:40

Pxie, 'phone social services?!!!!!! Are you mad?
Mum has a ditsy morning, so get social involved. Will probably then make her undergo psychiatric assessment, possible parenting lessons, and put child "on the system".
Not what I'd reccommmend. as well as the fact that if I was mum and dad, I'd go ballistic at the CM for doing this and give notice.
ps. I'm a CM and wouldn't dream of 'phoning over this.

woahthere · 04/08/2010 19:32

Dont worry, I didnt phone ss! She seems ok, actually I feel glad that I can offer her my service more than I would usually, she admitted she had had a bit of a shock about someone dying....but still!!! I cant imagine ver doing that, I did say are you ok and are you sure you dont want to go see a doc but she says shes fine.

My mum used to drop me off at my various clubs and go shopping whilst she waited - I remember her getting the whole way home and my dad asking her where I was before she realised she'd left me at the club!!

lollipopmother · 05/08/2010 22:30

Oh, but on a serious note, woman sounds batty, I would know if I'd left DD somewhere, I mean Jesus, where did she think her LO was if she wasn't with you??!

EmMum06 · 06/08/2010 09:53

when i was a new mum i was terified i would take dd out and forget to bring her home, leave her on a bus or in the shops. never happened thank goodness. twice my dh took the dog to the shops, tied her up out side and came home before he remembered her...v.v.funny.
