North Herts / S. Cambs / Bedfordshire

Our wonderful nanny is looking for more work. She's with us two days a week and is looking for two or three more days per week.

She's very experienced with babies, toddlers and older chidren, very calm, utterly capable and full of great ideas for things for the children to do/make/bake/paint/visit (making dens in the wood, baking their own play dough, collecting flowers, leaves and twigs on countryside walks to bring home to make collages...). She's a former primary-school teacher, well qualified, ofsted registerd, etc.

children adore her and I have no qualms whatsoever about leaving them in her sole charge while I work.

Please let me know if you'd like more information.

Yes I might do.

Will know more this week.

Is she Ofsted registered?

Im st Albans btw.

RobPforMe · 03/08/2010 22:02

Can you give me an idea of pay rate please?

InmyheadIminParis · 04/08/2010 09:27

hobbgoblin - She has worked in Harpenden before, so St. Albans would probably be okay for her.

Yes, she is Ofsted registered, CRB checked, etc and she is also happy to be paid via Childcare vouchers.

RobPforMe I pay £8.50 gross per hour. I'd like to give her a pay rise, though, and am waiting to see if I get a rise with my work so that I can up her rate a bit.

She's very, very experienced and utterly reliable.

Happy to answer any more questions.

Ok lovely , thanks for email info . I am seeing someone on friday but would be good to maybe have a chat with you on phone if that is ok?
First time on here so not sure what is protocol etc!!

InmyheadIminParis · 05/08/2010 09:18

RobPforMe - happy to have a chat over the phone. Have you signed up to the CAT service (Contact Another Member)? - if you have, you can message me that way.

Otherwise, let me know and either post your email address and I'll email you my phone number. (Prob. better to put e.g.' myname at btinternet dot com' rather than e.g. '[email protected]'.)

Where abouts in the country do you live? She's happy to travel, but not if it's too far away.

Thanks! I'm in Wheathampstead, so really local!
my email is amz66 at btinternet dot com
Many Thanks

InmyheadIminParis · 05/08/2010 20:18

RobPforMe and Hobbgoblin I'm ,sorry! It seems St Albans / Wheathampstead is going to be too far after all. She's based in Beds and although she did work in Harpenden for a long time, she'd prefer to work closer to home to cut down on travel expenses.
Sorry for the misleading info.

Anyone else? Looking for a superb nanny in S. Cambs / Beds / or N. N. Herts (Baldock / Letchworth, etc)

RobP, are you looking for a share?

InmyheadIminParis · 08/08/2010 17:09

Hi goingbacktowork - I'll ask her and see what she thinks. She'll be here tomorrow (Monday).

ok - thanks v much

InmyheadIminParis · 09/08/2010 15:55

Hello goingbacktowork - sorry, I've asked and she would prefer a live-out role.

I'm not doing too well at this recruitment lark, am I?

OP posts:
goingbacktowork · 09/08/2010 19:42

It is not you she is being a trifle fussy re distance etc - which she is entitled to be and the chances of you finding an exact match are slim. She might like to advertise on netmums or one of the nanny advertising sites - she may have more luck. Thanks very much for asking.

InmyheadIminParis · 11/08/2010 16:59

Thanks goingbacktowork. I think it's more that with petrol prices so high, the cost of comuting really mounts up.
