Am I too late for a summer au pair?? Tips and advice needed!

Thinking of getting someone for August. Maybe a student who fancies living away for the summer. Am I too late?

How do I go about it? Any top tips?

Try www.aupair-world.net for au pairs not yet in the country. If you are in London then there will probably still be lots of au pairs looking for august starts. Otherwise try your local gumtree.com to find au pairs who have already come to the area but are looking for new families.
Top tips would be - have a good idea of what you would like au pair to do and when (a time table of jobs works well) before you start chatting to them, have initial email contact but at least one phone call to check that their spoken English matches your expectations, be prepared for sudden silence from previously chatty au pairs - they tend to chat to a few families at a time, keep your options open (talk to 2-3 good candidates) until you get confirmation of flight booking.
