Can anyone recommend an English School in south west London for an au pair arriving in September?

the British council runs an accreditation scheme if that helps.

It is also worth trying to find some other au pairs in the area so he/she has a social life.

Your local FE college will probably have English language courses which will be free to EU nationals. The problem with private colleges (such as the one above) is that they work out very expensive.

A friend has told me about the BCA (Barnes Community Assoc.)English School in Barnes. She says it's popular with au pairs and not expensive. Has anyone heard of it?

Yes, I'd definitely recommend The BCA English School in Barnes. It's small and friendly, fees seem v reasonable and exam results good. Great social programme too!
