...title fairly self-explanatory! im one week post-birth and have just in the last couple of days had shooting pains in my bum, which i thought was constipation but didn't go away when i pooed. the pain is particularly bad when im sat on the loo and stops me weeing. does this ring any bells with anyone? should i be worried or just put it down to post-partum pelvic floor trouble that'll go away? (hopefully!)

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Piles? Have you had a feel around back there to see if anything sticking out? If it is - then there is a thread somewhere about them, on the pregnancy section I think.

Poor you though.

piles..didn't think of that. i didn't have them during pregnancy but maybe all the pushing i did to get DS out caused something to ...stick out. does it normally affect your ability to wee too?

I know what you mean, I had this.
I think this is something that will go away as your body recovers from the trauma of giving birth.

thanks guys, fingers crossed it will go away once that whole general area calms down - it was rather damaged!
