Guthrie/Heel Prick Test Time frame

Hi, Is it too late to get the heel prick test if the baby is 7 days old?
My baby was born last Tuesday and I can't get easily into the testing centre tomorrow, but can on Tuesday. I don't want my plans to mean that the baby misses the tests though.

Thank you for your replies.

ideal timeframe is between day 5 and day 8 - are you not in the UK as this is usually done at home by the community midwife.

She could well be in London. Here in my part of south London we see more unicorns and flying pigs than home visits from midwives.

(Sorry I can't be more helpful WRT the OP's original question!)

DS had his when he was 7 days old, we had to go back to the ward to have that, and to have my staples out, also had his hearing test on the same day.

No idea what the timeframe is supposed to be, we were just given the appointment on the way out of the door when we took him home. We're not in the UK though so not sure what normally happens there.
