Has anyone had a successful homebirth after a c-sect?

How did it go?

Was it planned?

Did you have to fight your case?

What was the original reason for your c-sect?

Just a few questions really as I would love a homebirth for this one but don't think I'll be getting much support unless it was an 'unplanned' homebirth. Is that a good idea though? I really can't be bothered fighting and arguing my case all the way through this pregnancy TBH.

tortoise, my initial reaction, on reading the thread title, was something similar to what you have said, although i wouldnt have put it so bluntly. the stories on here made my question my preconcieved notions. and surely that is a good thing? mumsnet threads are not only about people all agreeing with each other, they are also about informing and educating without judging.

my mom had an emergency c section, back when they really were emergency's, ie, because they lost the babies heartbeat after three days in labour etc etc. she tried a vbac third time round and almost lost that baby. my aunt lost her first baby to pre eclampsia and then had to deliver the baby vaginally. she was too emotionally traumatised by that to have a vaginal birth second pregnancy and had an elective c section instead. my other aunt became eclampsic in her fourth pregnancy, but fortunately didn tlose the baby, he was born 11 weeks or so prem instead. i had pre eclampsia myself first time. with all that history, i dont have the self confidence in my body's ability to be able to do what the ladies on here have, so to me, it does seem incredibly brave. had i heard these sorts of storied before having my own children, then its possible that i would have pushed for less intervention, rather than more.
